The Houston Rockets got off to a huge lead in the first half and kept the pressure on to defeat the Chicago Bulls by a score of 120-97.
This is the first home loss for the Bulls on Christmas Day in eight games.
Houston has been red hot as of late, winning four in a row thanks to a huge offensive outburst. This is the third straight game that the Rockets have topped 120 points, and they are now the No. 1 scoring offense in the league.
Against the Bulls, the team had great balance with Omer Asik, Chandler Parsons, Jeremy Lin and James Harden each scoring at least 20 points.
As for Chicago, the team simply could not recover from a poor start. The Bulls fell behind 58-41 at halftime, thanks in part to an 0-of-9 performance from behind the arc.
Nate Robinson tried to get the team back into the game with 27 points in 28 minutes, but it was not enough to stay competitive.
Player of the Game: Omer Asik, Houston Rockets
The big center is continuing his surprising season with impressive performances on both sides of the ball.
On Tuesday night, Omer Asik finished with 20 points and 18 rebounds. The Bulls were barely able to get any second opportunities when the Turkish player was on the floor.
This was the third double-double in a row for Asik.
Jeremy Lin also had a great game with 20 points, 11 assists and only two turnovers, but Asik was simply unstoppable on the day.
Up Next for Rockets
Houston continues its difficult road trip with games at the Minnesota Timberwolves and against the San Antonio Spurs.
Still, it seems like no team is able to stop the Rockets offense at this point. If Lin and the rest of the team keep playing at this high level, this winning streak will keep going for a few more games.
Up Next for Bulls
Things do not get easier for the Bulls with an upcoming road game against the Indiana Pacers. The squad will need to find a way to score against the top defense in the Eastern Conference to avoid falling further down the standings.
Fortunately, home games against the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Bobcats follow this tough battle.
