The Eastern Conference outgunned the West 163-155 in the 63rd edition of the NBA All-Star Game, with Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving picking up Most Valuable Player honors.

The East snapped a three-game losing skid and pushed its overall lead over the West to 37-26 thanks to the strong play of the 21-year-old Irving, who notched a double-double with 31 points and 14 assists.

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard competed in all three events, defending of his Skills Challenge title.

Andre Drummond ended up winning the MVP Award with 30 points and an impressive 25 rebounds.

Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and Kobe Bryant turned this All-Star game into L.A. story.

Paul had 20 points, 15 assists and won MVP honors, Bryant blocked LeBron James' comeback attempt, and the Western Conference beat the East 143-138 on Sunday night.

Kevin Durant scored 30 points and Griffin finished with 19, joining his Clippers teammate, Paul, in creating Lob City deep in the heart of Texas.

The 2013 Sprint Slam Dunk Contest winner is Terrence Ross of the Toronto Raptors.

The Eastern Conference was represented by Gerald Green of the Indiana Pacers, James White of the New York Knicks and Ross.
The Western Conference was represented by Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets, Eric Bledsoe of the Los Angeles Clippers and Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz.

He did just that on Friday night, scoring a game-high 40 points on 18 of 22 shooting, including an array of rim-rattling dunks, and grabbing 10 rebounds in 22 minutes to lead Team Chuck to a 163-135 win in the annual rookie/sophomore challenge.

The 2013 Sprite Slam Dunk will feature six dunkers competing in a two-round competition as part of State Farm All-Star Saturday Night. The new format will pit the Eastern Conference against the Western Conference in an exciting night of competition that will also raise money for charity.

Eric Bledsoe (Clippers), Kenneth Faried (Nuggets) and Jeremy Evans (Jazz) are representing the Western Conference while Gerald Green (Indiana), Terrence Ross (Toronto) and James White (Knicks) will be slamming on behalf of the East. Defending his 2012 crown, Evans joins Green (2007 Slam Dunk Winner) as the two previous winners in the field.

But James has steadfastly sat out the contest, which has in many fans' estimation devolved into a derivative, yawn-inducing shell of its former self.

“It’s just not me, I’m not a dunk contest type of guy,” James told reporters last year. “I’m an in-game dunker. I kind of improvise during the game. I’m not for scoreboards and all that type of stuff.”

But if the winner walked way with a check for a million dollars?

“Then I’d reconsider,” he said. “Wouldn’t you?”

Kobe Bryant has been voted to his NBA-record 15th consecutive All-Star start, leading four Los Angeles players into next month's game.

Lakers teammate Dwight Howard and the Clippers' Chris Paul and Blake Griffin will join Bryant in the Western Conference lineup for the Feb. 17 game in Houston. Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, the MVP of last year's game, rounds out the five.

This game will be the 62nd edition of the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game and will be played during the 2012–13 NBA season. The Rockets were awarded the All-Star Game in an announcement by commissioner David Stern on February 8, 2012. This will be the third time that Houston had hosted the All-Star Game; the city had previously hosted the event in 1989 at the Astrodome and 2006 at the Toyota Center.

Fans will vote on the starters for the game, selecting three frontcourt players and two guards from each conference. Previously, fans selected two forwards and one center instead of generic frontcourt players.

Which NBA Players Deserve to Start the 2013 All-Star Game?

The 2012-13 NBA season is barely underway, yet All-Star voting has already begun. While the season is young, there have already been a number of memorable games, ridiculous stats and there are even some records that are being closed in on.
This year's All-Star game is seeing a slightly different roster formatting. Instead of nominating two guards, two forwards and a center, it is now broken into just two categories: frontcourt players and guards. This comes as a result of the lineups for teams taking a serious change.
A lot of teams (most notably Miami and Boston) have taken to a "small ball" approach without a true center in their lineup. This new rule gives the lineups the chance to see the best players regardless of position period.
There are more than just 10 players that deserve an All-Star start, but there are a limited number of slots open. Those starting slots are not decided by a board or coaches. The starters are decided by the fans votes.
While popularity and branding is going to have an impact on who gets the starting nods, there are 10 players that deserve to be starting the 2012-13 edition of the All-Star game.
